With the London Design Festival in full swing, it was great to see clients and friends at the World of Interiors party at the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013, designed by Sou Fujimoto, on Wednesday evening.
We had a great time at the London Design Festival over the last few days; at Design Junction we especially liked the Apollo lighting range from Inter National. Decorex was as busy as ever at their new location in Kensington and as always And So To Bed had an exciting and unusual stand design with a ‘Silk Route’ theme.
The architects practice De Rosee Sa recently designed a sophisticated transformation of a Victorian town house in Hurlingham Road, London. They selected our cafe style Manhattan shutters in the bathroom to complete the contemporary design.
This week we are supplying Drago in Italy with our Mahogany shutters. The New England Shutter Company manufactures all its shutters from natural solid woods. These Mahogany shutters have a luxurious dark appearance, finished by hand using Osmo® hardwax oil, which gives a lustrous finish and enables the wood to breath.
TNESC Managing Director Nick recently visited Istanbul to measure the large windows of an apartment with wonderful views of the Bosphorus river. The shutters are over 3 metres tall and finished in a sparkling gold metallic paint. As the paint is different to our usual quick-drying spray paint each shutter blade takes two days to dry on each side, but we think the extra time and effort is worth it!

We fitted these Manhattan shutters in a lovely kitchen in Fulham, London. On this bay window we included a split mechanism, to enable the top and bottom blades to open independently. This offers a great combination of privacy and light, and in this basement kitchen reflects plenty of light back into the room.
