Admire our shutters whilst having Afternoon Tea at Harrods!

We have recently installed these elegant shutters in the Georgian restaurant at Harrods. Our carpenters had an early start (3.30am!) to get them installed before the restaurant opened. The shutters are designed with 47mm fixed blades, with sub – stiles and painted a custom colour.

The New England Shutter Company has its own joinery workshops, enabling us to manufacture these bespoke shutters for Harrods in just two and a half weeks.

Drummonds Bathroom

We recently designed and installed these shaped Manhattan shutters to compliment this beautiful Drummonds bathroom in South West London. The shutters were finished with water resistant paint to withstand the steam of a bathroom.

Kitchen Hatch Shutters

Our agents for Kent and East Sussex, The Interior Shutter Company, recently installed this nifty internal window/hatch shutter between a kitchen and dining room.

The client specified they wanted something a bit unusual, and decided on our exclusive Highline shutter design, with 115mm blades and 115mm x 32mm stiles and rails. We think that you'll agree it is a very stylish and practical solution to screen a tricky opening.

The Royal Bath and West Show

Bath and West Shutters, our agents for Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Devon and Cornwall, exhibited last week at the Royal Bath and West Show.

Their stand showcased a wide selection of bespoke shutters, available now for installation in the West Country, from Elsie and Hugh Lyford. Our Director Catherine joined Elsie and Hugh and they enjoyed meeting lots of new clients; they even had a chance to see some of the 4,500 livestock on show.

Fine Dining

Here at the New England Shutter Company, we love to share the success of our agents from across the country. This month we are proud to reflect on the results of a project carried out by our team in Cornwall.

We successfully introduced our shutters to one of the prettiest and most exclusive parts of Cornwall, Roseland Peninsula. Working with the staff at The Rosevine Hotel, our team installed beautiful New England Design shutters on bi-fold tracks in the hotel’s restaurant. Our shutters offer the hotel guests a sophisticated setting for fine dining while framing the picturesque sea views that stretch across Gerrans Bay.

TNESC warmly welcome Bath and West Shutters as their new agents, who are continuing to install beautiful shutters in Cornwall and the West Country.

A Dramatic Bedroom Makeover

Transforming your bedroom doesn’t always have to be a long, laborious process. You can completely change the look of a room by making some small changes.

We recently installed these unusual Manhattan design bedroom shutters in a beautiful home in central London. Our client wanted to create a more grown-up feel for a teenagers bedroom in her home. The choice of the solid Tulip wood shutters covered in luxurious Novasuede Teal fabric added a touch of colour and style, while the 89mm blade allows for maximum light.

These statement shutters are both practical and a fashionable. A feature that proved to be a simple, yet effective solution for redecorating our client’s living space.

Creating A Beautiful Bay Window

One of the beautiful things about having bay windows is the light and airy environment that they create. Yet, with their angled structure and large areas of glass, your living space becomes more exposed and they can seem challenging to dress.

With our design expertise and highly skilled fitters, we work with our clients to create the perfect set of custom shutters for their home.

We recently installed these classic White Collections Shutters for a client in West London. The client chose to have flat stiles with no moulding detail, with 89mm blades, in a Bright White paint colour.

While the shutters look stylish and chic, this shutter configuration is quite unusual as the widths of the panels are different across the bay and follow the line of the window glazing bar. This provides more versatility to open the middle panels and fold them back when desired.

The effect is simple and clean, with an elegant, traditional feel that also allows our client to control the level of light and privacy in their home.

Sloane Street Shutters

We recently designed and installed these bespoke shutters in an exclusive office development in Sloane Street. The stunning space is to be a gymnasium, library, treatment rooms and coffee shop with a ‘club’ style. These dark brown distressed faux leather panels work perfectly with the distressed wooden floors and some classic leather gym equipment to create the look.

The owners requested screening to ensure their staff have privacy from passers-by on the street, our director Nick worked closely with the client to create the ideal solution. The shutters are huge fixed panels which required special hoists to lift them into place. The unusual 175mm blades are fixed in a down position and the stiles and rails (the framing) are 100mm square box sections. The panels are resting on the floor, held in place with strong hooks attached to the walls.
